Talk Me Up is committed to providing quality services to you and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your Personal Information.

We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The NPPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your Personal Information.

What is Personal Information and why do we collect it?

Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. Examples of Personal Information we collect include: name, country, and email address.

This Personal Information is obtained via app signup and when you edit your profile.

We collect your Personal Information for the primary purpose of providing our services to you, providing information to our clients and marketing. We may also use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure. You may unsubscribe from our mailing/marketing lists at any time by contacting us in writing.

When we collect Personal Information we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.

Sensitive Information

Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information.

Sensitive information will be used by us only:

For the primary purpose for which it was obtained

For a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose

With your consent; or where required or authorised by law.

Third Parties

Where reasonable and practicable to do so, we will collect your Personal Information only from you. However, in some circumstances we may be provided with information by third parties. In such a case we will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are made aware of the information provided to us by the third party.

The data subject shall have the right to obtain from the controller the erasure of personal data concerning him or her without undue delay and the controller shall have the obligation to erase personal data without undue delay where one of the following grounds applies:
the personal data are no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which they were collected or otherwise processed;
the data subject withdraws consent on which the processing is based according to poin , and where there is no other legal ground for the processing;
the data subject objects to the processing pursuantand there are no overriding legitimate grounds for the processing, or the data subject objects to the processing pursuan;
the personal data have been unlawfully processed;
the personal data have to be erased for compliance with a legal obligation in Union or Member State law to which the controller is subject;
the personal data have been collected in relation to the offer of information.

Disclosure of Personal Information

Your Personal Information may be disclosed in a number of circumstances including the following:

Third parties where you consent to the use or disclosure; and

Where required or authorised by law.

Security of Personal Information

Your Personal Information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure.

When your Personal Information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your Personal Information.

How can I manage or delete information about me?

You can access the ‘Edit Profile’ screen by tapping the profile icon at the top of the ‘Profile’ screen. On the ‘Edit Profile’ screen you have the option to update your information or delete your account. When you delete your account, we delete all your user information including all of your talks from the system. If you want to use the app again after deleting your profile, you will need to create a new user profile..

Maintaining the Quality of your Personal Information

It is an important to us that your Personal Information is up to date. We will take reasonable steps to make sure that your Personal Information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. If you find that the information we have is not up to date or is inaccurate, please advise us as soon as practicable so we can update our records and ensure we can continue to provide quality services to you.

Payments and Refunds

If you purchase a subscription, it will automatically renew itself for another term of the same length, until you cancel it before the current term runs out. The subscription price is charged on the first day of the new term. You can cancel your subscription at any time. The cancellation will take effect the day after the last day of the term of the current subscription.

Refunds

We generally do not provide refunds for in-app purchases. It is in our discretion to provide refunds.

Account Deletion

If you would like to delete your account, you can do so by following the steps outlined in the app. When you delete your account, we will delete all personal information associated with your account, including your name, email address, and phone number. We will also delete any user-generated content like that you have posted, commented on, or messaged.

Please note that it may take up to 14 days for your account and associated data to be fully deleted from our systems. In addition, we may retain certain information for legal or technical reasons, such as backups or log files.

If you have connected your account to third-party services, please note that we may not be able to delete data that has been shared with those services. You may need to contact the third-party service directly to request deletion.

We take the security of your data seriously and have implemented a range of measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, use, or disclosure. These measures include encryption, access controls, and regular security assessments.
